I love to go out to eat ... and unless I REALLY love a restaurant I usually try to go places I have never eaten before. I have been living in Provo for 3 years now and I would like to share with you some of my favorite places to eat and what I order.
Sensuous Sandwich (Provo center street or Orem state street):
*The Satisfier: Chicken Breast lunch meat with Jack cheese and lettuce, tomato, pickles, banana peppers, mayo and vinegar. Try it. You'll love it!
Zupas:
*My favorite thing to eat at Zupas is their tomato basil soup with orzo (no, the orzo does not cost extra, so next time they ask if you want it, no need to hesitate!--orzo are just noodles that look like big rice) AJ's favorite food there is "any salad with fruit". My favorite of these salads is the one with chicken, mandarin oranges, and pina colada dressing--forgot the name, sorry. Each meal comes with French bread and a chocolate-dipped strawberry :)
Sammy's:
*Sammy's is right off Provo center street and 100 West. They are famous for their pie shakes. Get any shake and it is delicious. They put a whole pie of pie in one shake. They also serve food here and I love the grilled chicken sandwich with avocado. Also, if you've never had sweet potato fries, theirs are legitimately delicious. Dip them in ranch. ... My mouth is watering. They also have italian creme soda which I "craved" a lot while pregnant.
Speaking of being pregnant... you might like Taco Bell's bean burrito with no onions. This was my default food when I was starving and about to scream. Pretzel sticks, orange juice, and medication saved my morning, day, and nighttime sickness.
Cafe Rio:
* This is a pretty hoppin' place to eat. Both AJ's and my favorite food there is: Pork Burrito with black beans, mild salsa, served enchilada style (as in they cover it with sauce and cheese and run it through the oven) .... Feel free to also order their Tres Leches for dessert and go ahead and get a punch card. If you plan on living in Provo for a few years you might find yourself with a free entree :) - We just earned ours and are saving it for the perfect day. Horchata is always good here too.
Art City Trolley: (AJ's Favorite!)
*AJ LOVES the Hawaiian BBQ sandwich. -- Oh this is a little train in Springville right along North State street. The sandwich he orders has a big ring of fresh pineapple on it... SO good. I like everything I have ever tried here, so I whatever you pick out on the menu that suits your fancy will be delicious! They also have HUGE desserts ... perfect for sharing ;)
Gloria's Little Italy: (Carrie's Favorite!) - Off Center Street and University Ave, Provo
*This is a small restaurant that we would go to occasionally to buy gelato or italian creme soda... then, when my dad was in town ($$) we finally went to eat a meal there. The prices are about $15-20 a plate but SOOO DELICIOUS! The best was the gnocchi with the creamy tomato sauce (has a fancy name that I can not remember) I ordered white spinach lasagna but like what Dad and AJ ordered better. The staff there was AMAZING and the manager is the bomb! (when I was pregnant he let us come it right when they were locking up the doors ... I was craving Italian Creme Soda ... anyways we ordered some and he smiled at me and said we could have it for free... I like to call it a blessing of paying tithing and a very nice man!)
This is all that I have time to share right now... Bon Appetit! Or however it's spelled!
